Gravitrix

You play as Bucky, styling your way through the alleys and spaces of a very small Pogotown exploring different tricks on your pogostick. Break the boundaries of movement and experience the freedom against the pull of gravity. Collect different costumes and items from the environment. Show you moves in the performance arena. You decide the moves. You make the path. Go Pogo!

Gravitrix follows a futuristic comic-book shaded art style to capture the vibrance of the beautiful colors in the game world showcasing the rich, obstacle-filled world of extreme pogosticking. The neon signs, popping visual effects and the bucket-head character are aimed to invoke the spirit of rebelliousness and creativity in your gameplay.

Collect coins, props and costumes from the environment. How many tricks can you combine? Can you flip off an edge into a grind? Can you recreate some real pogo tricks? Hop on to the pogo performance arena to show off your style. But remember to rush your bucket-home before it is too late!!

Enjoy an intuitive and responsive control system that gives you complete freedom over every movement. It is easy to learn, but challenging to truly master.

Gravtrix includes the following gameplay features:

• Pogo stick jumping mechanic

• Boost feature that the player can control (based on timing) to jump higher

• 8 Classic Pogo tricks(inspired from real pogo tricks)

• 4 advanced tricks (inspired from real pogo tricks but infused with break dance moves)

• A grind mechanic which lets players grind in a skateboard like fashion using their pogostick on edges and wires

• Wall bounce mechanic

• A rocket jump which adds a thrust to the pogo taking it to a ridiculous height

• A tutorial level, a story-mode level with scripted events and a free-roam mode

Gravitrix was created as a semester project by master’s students at the Entertainment Technology Center at Carnegie Mellon University. The game was developed in collaboration with and under the guidance of Xpogo - a company of highly talented individuals who perform real life pogo stunts professionally! The game is a semi-finished version which will possibly get more features and updates in the future.
