Taimanin Yukikaze

CHARACTER

Yukikaze Mizuki (Voice: Yuri Himuro)

Our heroine, a young Taimanin who represents the next generation of anti-demon ninja warriors. She wields the deadly Lightning Arts that have been passed down to her through her family, as her deceased father did before her—in fact, Yukikaze's lightning bolts are so powerful that she cannot control them on her own and must rely on a pair of special handguns as a focus. By generating bullets in their barrels, she can unleash devastating salvos of thunder that have earned her a nickname: the Lightning Taimanin. Yukikaze is full of pride and hates to lose, and opens her heart only to Tatsuro Akiyama, her childhood friend, with whom she regrets to admit she isn't yet in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. Due to her extremely active daily lifestyle, she remains suntanned all year round.

◆ Ninja Arts: Lightning Bolt Bullets
A powerful offensive application of the Lightning Arts. With a gun in each hand, she concentrates orbs of electricity before firing them at her opponents. Once in motion, these orbs partially transform into plasma, superheating whatever they hit and leaving gaping melted holes in their wake. Upon impact, their electric potential is unleashed, tearing targets apart with 5,000 volts of pain.


Rinko Akiyama (Voice: Haruka Satou)

Although the two attend the same school, Rinko is Yukikaze's senior as a Taimanin. The two are childhood friends who are as close as sisters, and Tatsuro is Rinko's little brother. Looking after her younger siblings—as she sees them—is Rinko's primary hobby in life and she tends to spoil the pair, showing them a soft and gentle side of herself that no one outside the family ever sees. To the rest of the world, Rinko is a beautiful, strict, and elegant presence; she has rejected a shocking number of love confessions from the boys who want to get to know her better. Rinko is rarely seen away from Yukikaze, whom she wholeheartedly supports.
As a Taimanin, her weapon is a long katana, which she wields in the Itto style passed down in her village.

◆ Ninja Arts: Void Arts
An atypical ninja superpower that allows the user to leap across space. Her scrying ability allows her to project her senses over a one-kilometer radius in order to see across walls and distances, while her warping power lets her teleport herself or other nearby individuals and items—however, the latter half of her arsenal is temporarily exhausting to the user.

STORY

Near-future Japan is overrun with demons, creatures of darkness and corruption. By ancient unspoken agreement, humans and these dark beings have always held themselves apart—until man's depravity began to break the barriers down. At present, humans and demons collude to form gangs and corporations.
It is an era of chaos, but those who still choose to walk the righteous path find themselves far from powerless. The government has formed the Taimanin, a group of ninjas who, while human, possess the strength to fight such nefarious foes.

Amid this endless battle against the forces of darkness—and against the objections of Asagi, their leader—the young Taimanin Yukikaze and her senior agent Rinko volunteer for a perilous mission to rescue Yukikaze's missing mother...
